Yoshi Izakaya’s Special Donburi: The Answer to Your Hunger

Yoshi Izakaya’s Special Donburi: The Answer to Your Hunger

It’s almost noon. You’re sitting on your desk, feeling extremely hungry because you didn’t have breakfast this morning. Your stomach is growling. Your patience is growing thin. You need food, stat. But what on earth could possibly satiate your humongous hunger?

Ding dong!

Yoshi Izakaya restaurant at Gran Melia Jakarta is offering special donburi dishes until 27 September 2015.

Donburi is basically a Japanese rice bowl dish, offering a bowl of rice with some proteins on top. For those of you still questioning what is the connection between extreme hunger and donburi, let me tell you something: the portion of Yoshi Izakaya’s donburi is huge. The rice portion is extremely generous, and it comes with fresh salad and pickles.

During this donburi special week, Chef Ito of Yoshi Izakaya creates four menus: Wagyu Fillet Don, Kaisen Hana Chirashi Don, Anago & Kaisen Tendon, and Fukagawa Don. While the former three have been somewhat adjusted to Indonesian tastes and thus become favourites, the latter—Fukagawa Don—is claimed by Chef Ito to be the one that really stays true to Japanese flavours.

Whichever your pick is, you surely will walk out with a full belly. For a healthier option, try the Kaisen Hana Chirashi Don: an array of cube cut sashimi—plus a piece of the exotic sea urchin—and sushi rice. Meat lovers would surely love Wagyu Fillet Don, while fried-food mania would enjoy Anago & Kaisen Tendon. Seafood enthusiasts might favour the unique Fukugawa Don that serves Asari clams. Oishii! Go give them a try before they’re gone!
