Furama Villas & Spa, Ubud: Inception, Bali-Style

One of the things that really stick out from the movie Inception is its interesting—and somewhat confusing—concept of “a dream within a dream”. The deeper you go, the more detached you become from the real world. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the concept was applied to your holiday? Where you can just hide for a while in some remote place of the world to recharge yourself?

Say hello to Furama Villas & Spa, Ubud, Bali.

Some might argue that Ubud is not what it once was; it is now heavily commercialised and too busy with tourists. But Furama is different. It is located approximately 30 minutes away from the centre of Ubud—far enough from the hustle bustle. In other words, Furama is a paradise within the already beautiful Ubud. See? An oasis within a paradise. A dream within a dream; Inception, Bali-style.

The villas’ remote location ensures that you will get an honest, rustic Bali experience. With the view of Mount Batur in the near distance, explore the real Ubud neighbourhood and watch how daily life unfolds in this part of the world: fresh air, farmers taking care of their crops, birds flying freely against the bright blue sky.

And how could it be a dreamy holiday without some good food to fill your hungry tummy? Furama’s in-house restaurant—Padi Restaurant—offers an array of delicious food, plus a gorgeous view of the rice field that stretches as far as the eyes can see. Our favourite menu is the mouthwatering Pork Ribs with Sambal Matah: sinfully delicious grilled pork ribs, so tender that is falls off the bone easily. The sambal matah, which packs a lot of heat, adds another layer of flavour to this dish. Yum!
