Gran Melia Celebrates the Independence Day of Indonesia

On 17 August 1945, a history was made. Indonesia finally proclaimed its independence from the Dutch and started its history as a free nation. Now, seventy years have passed, and the whole country is going to celebrate. Gran Melia Hotel Jakarta is honouring the day by offering menus inspired by the diverse flavour of classic and modern Indonesian dishes—all throughout August 2015.

Don’t miss Café Gran Via’s interesting take on “Nasi Tumpeng”. While usually the dish uses white rice or yellow rice, this version incorporates a mix of red and white rice, stacked to resemble the flag of Indonesia. For a sweet ending, head over to El Bombon to enjoy numerous red and white treats: macarons, red velvet cakes, and many more.
