3 Rooftop Bars in Jakarta

Similar to other great cities in the world, Jakarta never stops building. New skyscrapers are planned and built every day, creating another jut in Jakarta’s ever-changing skyline. More skyscrapers mean more rooftops, and more rooftops mean more rooftop bars slash cafes slash restaurants! These three spots are among Jakarta’s hippest rooftop bars.

1. Cloud Lounge
Anyone who has visited Cloud at The Plaza would most likely agree that it is one of the best rooftop venues in Jakarta. Besides presenting patrons an all-round view of the Jakarta skyline, Cloud also offers lively music, great cocktails, and surprisingly tasty food. Whether you’re in the mood for vodka or simply some churros, Cloud gives it all to you!

2. BART
BART — Bar at The Roof Top — is located on the 7th floor of the most artistic hotel in Central Jakarta, Artotel. Artotel is a boutique hotel, easily recognizable by its graffiti-esque exterior in purple, black, and white. Drop by BART sometime after work to unwind and enjoy a glass of wine or cocktail while breathing in some fresh air and enjoying the view of Thamrin and Sarinah area.

3. Lucy in The Sky
While the previous two are relatively new, Lucy in The Sky -opened in 2011- is one of the first modern rooftop establishments in Jakarta. As ‘old’ as it may be, it always seems to be packed with customers. Stepping inside Lucy in The Sky feels like entering an oasis in the middle of a concrete jungle; the venue is indeed as cute as its name!
