Mexican Lunch and Dinner at Bengawan, Keraton at The Plaza

Mexican food lovers rejoice! Arguably one of the more difficult type of cuisine to find in Indonesia, a choice of Mexican food is now available for lunch and dinner at Bengawan, located at Keraton at The Plaza. It serves an authentic 3-course Mexican Express Menu, with a selection of appetizer, entrée, and dessert.

The food is different yet familiar to the Indonesian palette. Popular items such as tacos, enchiladas, burritos, and fajitas are paired with unique ingredients like grilled cactus, lengua (slow cooked beef tongue), and huitlacoche (corn fungus). The interesting fact is that the chef is determined to use local produce whenever possible -including the cactus and numerous types of chilli.

P.S. Don’t let the weird names of the ingredients scare you! Do give it a try and maybe you’ll fall in love with the dish.
