Lounging at Lokananta Terrace Restaurant

Living in Jakarta could be suffocating at times, and no cure is better than spending a few hours relaxing on a comfy sofa, surrounded by green plants, chatting with close friends, and munching on good food. Say hello to my newfound hiding hole, Lokananta Terrace Restaurant at Panglima Polim.

Located next to Asih Hospital, Lokananta from the outside looks pretty much like any other house in the area: one-storey high, unassuming, and perfectly ordinary. The magic happens once you get inside and go through the back door, which leads to a terrace area—hence the name. It is roofed by one of those PVC panels, creating a gazebo-like atmosphere. Lush green trees and potted plants that encircle the terrace give a pleasant, relaxing feeling.

The food served at Lokananta maybe the regular bistro food—steak, fried rice, pasta, and the like—but the taste is mostly on point, which is the most important thing. Two of our favourite dishes are Grilled Salmon and Spaghetti Carbonara. Grilled Salmon dishes up the healthy salmon with the oh-so-salivating potato wedges; squeeze a bit of lemon on top to make it even more punchy! While Spaghetti Carbonara is a very common dish, the one at Lokananta deserves a shout out for being milky instead of creamy. It is different, in a good way.

P.S. With a minimum transaction of Rp 200.000,-, Coconut Rewards members can redeem one of these five at Lokananta: Milk Tea, Chicken Wings, Toast, Oxtail Fried Rice, or Steak Combo. T&C applies.
