Zenbu, House of Mozaru

Japanese food is one of the most favorite international cuisines in Jakarta, as can be seen from the ever-growing number of Japanese restaurants. Zenbu, despite having been in the business for quite some time, remains among the go-to spots for food hunters. It is partly because of the casual and relaxed atmosphere that Zenbu offers.

True to its tagline “House of Mozaru”, Zenbu’s signature dish involves mozaru, the Japanese way of saying mozzarella cheese. A generous amount of mozzarella is served on top of hot rice and katsu (fried cutlet), with a choice of butter, tomato, or spicy Dynamite sauce.

Besides Mozaru, Zenbu also has an array of delicious side dishes, including Modanyaki and Shisamo Mentaiko. Modanyaki is a modern Osaka style of Okonomiyaki, while Shisamo Mentaiko is roe-filled grilled fish. If you prefer something fresher such as sushi and sashimi, Zenbu has them too.

Get ready to queue if you happen to visit Zenbu during lunch time and weekends. It seems that people just can’t get enough of Mozaru!
