Living The Sweet Life at Shirokuma

Living The Sweet Life at Shirokuma

You know you’re in a desperate need of something refreshing when the usually-cool mall feels stuffy—which happens very often these days—even though there are not many people inside and you’re wearing a cotton t-shirt and shorts. That’s where Shirokuma comes in. The Japanese-influenced white bear café has become one of my go-to places for a much-needed cold, sweet ice cream.

Presented in the beautiful colour of baby blue, the sea salt soft-serve ice cream is my personal favourite Shirokuma ice cream flavour; it offers a very nice balance between salty and sweet. I personally would’ve liked a touch of more salt to give it a little bit more kick, but it is great just the way it is. This flavour also tastes wonderful with coffee!

When a simple ice cream cone doesn’t cut it for you, take a pick from Shirokuma’s list of Gourmet Softcream—think ice cream cone with cute toppings: cotton candy, marshmallow, cookies—or take it a step further and order a glass of Parfait. Shiratama Parfait and Carapop Parfait are especially fun! Everything is customisable with your favourite flavour of ice cream.

Whichever type of ice cream you pick at Shirokuma, it is guaranteed to keep you sane while battling Jakarta’s unforgiving heat!
